On January 29, the library hosted the training Electronic Information Resources for Traumatologists and Orthopedists.
The training was organized by the National Library of Belarus, the Belarusian Republican Scientific-Medical Society of Orthopedic Traumatologists and the Russian Scientific and Practical Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics.
The training was opened by Director General of the library, Roman Motulsky, and Director of the Russian Research Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics, Mikhail Gerasimenko.
A wide range of global electronic information resources in the field of medicine was presented to participants. Marina Rudakovskaya, Head of the Corporate Interaction Department, spoke about the possibilities of their use through the Virtual Reading Room of the NLB by medical community.
The principles of the formation of the open-access information resources and sources of open scientific information on traumatology and orthopaedics were presented by Vyacheslav Brichkovsky, Head of the Information Support of Innovation Section of the department.
The audience was greatly interested in the speeches by Alexander Sitnik, Head of the Adult Traumatology Laboratory of the Russian Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics, on the latest technological achievements and the application of augmented reality methods in traumatology, as well as on international experience in medical research.
The training was attended by 55 participants, among them were: representatives of the Republican Scientific-Practical Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics, the Minsk City Clinical Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics, city clinical hospitals, clinics, the Belarusian State Medical University, the Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, and the editorial office of the Medical Herald newspaper.
