The opening of the art exhibition and the presentation of the collections of sonnets by Fiodar Jastrab "Abiacanne snoǔ" and "Viasiolkavy slied" will take place in the Library on October 27.


Fiodar Jastrab (Franc Adamavič Jastrab, 1953–2014) is an artist, gallery dealer, cultural worker, art historian, educator, author and curator of more than 70 large-scale art projects.

Visitors will get acquainted with his works of art. It is a whole world, full of imaginative and semantic atmosphere, a wide palette of colors and shades. The artworks have a bright individual style, national colors, attention to details.

The artist left a rich artistic legacy not only as an artist but also as a talented poet. He wrote nearly a thousand sonnets. There will be presented two collections of his sonnets "Abiacanne snoǔ" and "Viasiolkavy slied" at the event. The perfection and expression of thoughts and images, philosophical fullness of rhymes open for a reader a romantic but at the same time a very serious poet.

A documentary exhibition devoted to the creative personality of the artist will be opened for guests.

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
