Newspaper Age: Pages of Time

They say like century, like people. And if you want to know more about “centuries” and “peoples”, read newspapers.  This is still as relevant as it was one hundred years ago. “Newspaper Age: Pages of Time” is a  new co-project of the newspaper  “Sovetskaya Belorussiya – Belarus Segodnya” and the National Library of Belarus, which offers a historical journey through newspapers’ pages and, conformably, an acquaintance with Belarus in the early 20th century.

Chronicle of the World Capitals

On May 21-22 Tatyana Kuzminich, Deputy Director of the National Library of Belarus, took part in the international exhibitionm "Chronicle of the World Capitals" and a scientific conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.

Connoisseur of Belarusian Antiquities

April 18, 2024 marks the 210th anniversary of the birth of Yevstafiy Tyshkevich, a famous archaeologist, historian, ethnographer, local historian and museologist. His research has raised whole layers of the historical past, he was one of the first Belarusian authors of local lore. To mark the anniversary of the scientist, an exhibition "Connoisseur of Belarusian Antiquities" has been organized in the Book Museum of the National Library of Belarus.

A Look into Eternity

Anniversary book exhibition "A Look into Eternity", dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the Belarusian scientist, literary critic Vladimir Mikhailovich Konon (1934–2011), takes place from April 23 to May 20 in the Belarusian Literature reading room (room 205).
