On 9 January, a creative lesson "Frosty traceries” was held from the series "Non-traditional ways of representation" in the Children Room of the National Library of Belarus.


On this lesson children learned to draw in a printing mechanism. A masking tape, paints and cellophane were used in creating of unusual “frosty” compositions. Using creative fantasy and imagination, children got unique drawings.

Young participants of the event listened to one of the most popular Russian folk fairy-tales "Jack Frost", took part in a literary contest and remembered other well-known fairy-tales.

Mobile and board games were a perfect completion of this lesson.

This year marks the 205th anniversary of the birth of the world-famous composer, our famous countryman Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872). By this date, the National Library of Belarus is replenishing with new materials the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created in 2019.

The 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War are among the main events of 2024 and 2025. Numerous patriotic and cultural and educational events, scientific conferences, exhibitions, publishing projects, electronic resources and much more will be dedicated to these anniversaries for two years.
