On February 21, the National Library of Belarus holds an event Harmonious, Sonorous, Melodic Words dedicated to the International Mother Language Day.
On the International Mother Language Day celebrated around the globe for the 21st time, you will see not only traditional quotes from the classics of the Belarusian literature about the Belarusian language but also common Belarusian words that distinguish us from other nations on the outdoor electronic light board of the Library.
According to the UNESCO study, the Belarusian language is one of the most melodic languages in the world. Vyasyo~o~olka (rainbow), matu~u~ulya (mother), nathne~e~enne (inspiration)... If you don’t believe it, then we invite you to look through the pages of the most popular Belarusian pieces in the National Library.
Also, check out the external electronic light board of the Library in the morning and evening of February 21. Bright, beautiful, eye-catching videos will show the most melodic native words and quotes from the works of the Belarusian writers.
