On October 19 at 4 p.m. at the gallery Rakurs of the National Library of Belarus takes place the event "Everliving jazz”.


A new joint project of the National Library of Belarus and the USA Embassy in the Republic of Belarus will be a spectacular event for all who is in love with jazz, knows its history and is interested in this music.

Within the framework of the event, the National Library of Belarus offers a book exhibition about the world of jazz. The exposition includes encyclopedias and dictionaries, autobiographies, bibliographies, vinyl disks and CDs, printed music and illustrations from the collections of the National Library of Belarus. Besides, a poster exhibition dedicated to Louis Armstrong, the world-known king of jazz, opens at the National Library of Belarus.

Within the framework of the event, the USA Embassy in the Republic of Belarus will present to the National Library of Belarus a certificate of acquisition of music databases.

Guests of the event will see performances of jazz bands, singers and musicians.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.

This year marks the 205th anniversary of the birth of the world-famous composer, our famous countryman Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872). By this date, the National Library of Belarus is replenishing with new materials the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created in 2019.

The 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War are among the main events of 2024 and 2025. Numerous patriotic and cultural and educational events, scientific conferences, exhibitions, publishing projects, electronic resources and much more will be dedicated to these anniversaries for two years.
