The National Library held a seminar about the BiblioRossika electronic library system on February 22.
"BiblioRossika" is a constantly growing full–text database that contains more than 20,000 publications combined into basic, special, English-language and publishing collections. They include books on natural sciences, journalism, healthcare, history, culture and art, international relations, education and pedagogy, agriculture and forestry, technical sciences, philology, economics, etc. The resource is particularly valuable for rare and low–circulation publications of Russian regional universities.
The meeting was held in a mixed format: various libraries of our country were able to join the seminar remotely, and employees of the National Library were able to participate in person. In total, the seminar brought together representatives of more than 30 libraries, institutions of higher, vocational and secondary special education from all regions of Belarus.
Viktar Pshybytka, deputy director general of the National Library of Belarus, welcomed everyone to the gathering. The gathering's host was the information center's head, Alla Sheremetyeva.
Natalia Yurchenko, a representative of the BiblioRossika company, was the seminar's guest speaker. She gave the audience an overview of the resource and described its features. Natalia introduced new platforms on the occasion, including "Only calm!" "How the world works," "New classics," "Short reading," etc., that cater to readers' current interests. The electronic library system's services and mobile app were also briefly described.
Please be aware that public access to the "BiblioRossika" electronic library system is available to all National library of Belarus registered users.
The Virtual reading room is open for cooperation with all libraries and information centers of our nation in order to connect to the "BiblioRossika" ELS and other licensed databases.
We are happy to work together!
