On 23 May, the National Library of Belarus donated about 300 publications to the library of the 361st base of protection and care of "The Central military authorities".


This donation was organized within the framework of the Year of a Book and in support of the republican action "The Belarusian book for regions". The library fund was replenished with encyclopedic and reference editions, educational materials, documentary and fiction.

Encyclopedias and reference editions, donated by the Publishing House Belarusian Encyclopedia named after P. Brovka are more valuable. It is volumes of "Беларуская энцыклапедыя" (Belarusian encyclopedia), "Энцыклапедыя гісторыі Беларусі" (encyclopedias of Belarusian history), as well as books from the series "Classics of the CIS Literature".

In 2012, the National Library of Belarus is going to donate 100 000 books to more than 200 public, university, school and other special libraries of the country.

The National Library of Belarus has a fund of literature for interrepublican interchange and redistribution, which is constantly replenished by numerous donations from different organizations and individuals. The National Library of Belarus works hardly to promote books and reading, as well as it does all that is necessary for quick access to received editions for as much as possible the amount of Belarusian readers.

Adam Shanyavsky and the library fund of the Nesvizh county school (the last quarter of the XVIII century)

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
