The National Library of Belarus and the Belarusian National Bar Association organized and held a monthly thematic meeting with a lawyer “Division of property in case of divorce” within the framework of events on information and legal education of citizens on November 17.
The lecture was delivered by Yulia Kniaz, the lawyer of the Minsk City Bar Association.
The meeting detailed legal issues within the framework of the current legislation of the Republic of Belarus concerning the division of jointly acquired property of spouses, both voluntarily and in court; Listed categories of property not subject to separation at the dissolution of marriage; issues are raised about the statute of limitations, as well as the application of restraint measures in the refusal of one of the parties to comply with the court's decisions.
The NLB users were able to ask questions and receive competent and detailed answers.
The event also included a thematic exhibition of literature from the collections of the National Library of Belarus in the Legal Information Reading Room (room 207b).
