On 25 August at 7.00 p.m., at the National Library of Belarus takes place a solemn event devoted to the veterans of the legendary handball team “SKA-Minsk”.
This year the Belarusian sport community celebrates the anniversary of a remarkable event. 30 years ago, for the first time in the history of the Belarusian team sports, the handball team “SKA-Minsk” won the title of champion of the USSR.
In the ensuing years the team became the champion of the USSR for five times and won the Belarusian Cup for three times, the Cup Winners’ Cup for two times, and the Champions’ Cup for three times.
With the purpose of celebrating the anniversary of this crucial event in the history of Belarusian sports, the Handball Federation of Belarus in cooperation with the Handball Club “SKA-Minsk” hold an international handball competition on August 25 – 28, 2011. Teams from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine will participate in the competition. The games will take place at the sport complex in Filimonova Str., 55/2. The National Library of Belarus will host the ceremony honoring the “SKA-Minsk” veterans.
