The album of the World Heritage of Francysk Skaryna to be awarded the Grand Prix of the prestigious Book Art Contest.

The solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the 57th National Book Art Contest was held on the main stage of the XXV Minsk International Book Fair on March 2.

About 150 publications claimed the prizes of the prestigious competition, however, the album of the World Heritage of Francysk Skaryna issued by the publishing house Belarusskaya Encyclopedia imeni Petrusya Brovki was received the main prize of the prestigious competition: the Grand Prix in the nomination "Triumph", the Diploma named after Francysk Skorina and the "Great Golden Tome".

The album of the series Encyclopedia of Rare Books was published as part of the celebration of the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book-printing and was prepared by Belarusian specialists in the field of book science and scorinology: by Alexander Susha, deputy director for research and publishing activities at the National Library of Belarus, and Galina Kireeva, head of the Bibliology Research department.

The album contains information about each book of the first Belarusian book-printer and visually represents the book heritage of Francysk Skaryna, which is now stored in many countries of the world - in book and museum collections in Belarus, Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, USA, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Ukraine, The Czech Republic.

They say like century, like people. And if you want to know more about “centuries” and “peoples”, read newspapers.  This is still as relevant as it was one hundred years ago. “Newspaper Age: Pages of Time” is a  new co-project of the newspaper  “Sovetskaya Belorussiya – Belarus Segodnya” and the National Library of Belarus, which offers a historical journey through newspapers’ pages and, conformably, an acquaintance with Belarus in the early 20th century.
