The Virtual reading room of the National Library of Belarus provides a licensed access to the BioOne database.


The database BioOne comprises 160 titles of journals on agriculture, cattle breeding, plant cultivation, agronomy, biology, biochemistry and molecular biology, biophysics, cell biology, developmental biology, ecology, education, engineering industry, entomology, environics, evolutionary biology, fish industry, forestry, genetics, geography, geology, sea biology, hydrology,  microbiology,  ornithology, paleontology,  parasitology, environment protection,  radiology, nuclear medicine, reproductive biology, sports, veterinary medicine and zoology. About  70% of journal titles have the rating of the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI, Thomson Reuters Corporation).

The access is available through the Virtual reading room of the National Library of Belarus for organizations that have confirmed their participation in the testing of the resource.

The database BioOne is on open access till December 31st, 2012.

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
