National Library of Belarus’ Virtual reading room renders the test access to electronic resources of the biggest academic publishing house of Great Britain Oxford University Press.


Oxford Dictionary of National Biography is an electronic version of Oxford Dictionary of National Biography in 60 volumes. There are more than 55 000 biographies of the prominent figures that lived in Britain from the IV century to today. The database contains 64 million dictionary entries and more than 10 000 images – portraits and photos.

Electronic Enlightenment is a new project of Oxford Humanities Division. There is correspondence of the prominent thinkers, writers, artists, poets, musicians and public figures of the XVIII century with their families and friends, bankers and patrons, book sellers and publishers.

The test access is open in the Virtual reading room of National Library of Belarus till October 10, 2009.

"BiblioNight-2024" has taken place!

We studied, made noise, had fun and were creative! The annual action in support of reading "BiblioNight-2024" has taken place! BiblioNight turned the space of the National Library of Belarus into a Planet of Knowledge, where thousands of book lovers found activities to their liking, received a lot of positive emotions and learned a lot of new and interesting things.

"Soldier's Fate": on the 100th anniversary of Vasil Bykov and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the People's writer of Belarus, publicist and screenwriter Vasil Vladimirovich Bykov.
On this occasion, the National Library has prepared an anniversary exhibition "Soldier's fate", which highlights the great influence on the work of the Belarusian writer of his participation in the Great Patriotic War.
