A workshop for students of the Primary Education Department of Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M. Tank was held at the National Library, on April 14th. The event was timed to the 400th anniversary of the Belarusian ABC-Book.
Alexander Susha, the deputy director of the National Library of Belarus for research and publishing, welcomed the workshop attendees. At the Book Museum’s exhibition, he introduced students and teachers to the best samples of books for primary education, which had been published on the Belarusian soil for four centuries.
Olga Tsirinova, the leading researcher at the Primary Education Laboratory of the National Institute of Education Research Center, PhD., associate professor, chief editor of the journal Elementary Education: Family, Kindergarten, School and author of the latest Primer for schools where the language of instruction is Russian, told the teachers-to-be about modern scientific and methodological practices of teaching reading and writing.
The workshop was also attended by the dean of the Primary Education Department, Natalia Zhdanovich, associate dean for educational work of the Primary Education Department, Irina Butorina, and faculty of Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M. Tank.
