On 29 February, the Director of the National Library of Belarus R. Motulsky signed cooperation agreements with the Lvov National Vasyl Stefanyk Scientific Library of Ukraine and Andrey Sheptytsky National Museum.
During the visit, Roman Motulsky donated to the library and the museum of Lvov eleven volumes of the facsimile edition The Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna.
Also, the director of the National Library of Belarus met with the board of Ivan Franko National University of Lvov – the director of the University Scientific Library Vasily Kmet, the vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work, social issues and development Marian Lozinsky, and the dean of the Faculty of Culture and Arts Roman Krakhmalny.
The meeting participants exchanged views and experiences to enhance mutual relations and establish systematic cooperation in scientific bibliographic and bibliological studies. Roman Motulsky presented to his colleagues the information projects of the National Library, in particular those on the formation of the national bibliography and the almost completed project for the publication of Francysk Skaryna’s heritage.
Also, during the meeting the investigation of manuscripts and early printed books was discussed. The attendants arranged about cooperation between the institutions aimed at the mutual study of funds and the identification of the artifacts of national heritage. In particular, the University Library keeps the handwritten "Prologue" of the XVI c. which history goes back to the ancient origins of Belarusian libraries.
Roman Motulsky invited colleagues to participate in the international conference on the occasion of the 950th anniversary of the founding of the St. Sophia Cathedral’s library in September 2016.
The meeting participants shared publications representing the research trends in the main library of Belarus and the oldest library of Ukraine.
Later, the guests visited the museum of the history of Ivan Franko National University of Lvov.
