On October 30, Mr. Arthur Gumenyuk, the Secretary of the Supreme Security Council of Moldova, visited the National Library of Belarus as part of a working visit to Belarus.


During a tour to the National Library the guest of honor got acquainted with its history and appreciated the architectural features and potential of the country’s largest information and socio-cultural center.

The tour route also included a visit to the international exhibition "Francysk Skaryna and his epoch", dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book-printing. For the first time in Belarus, the most valuable monuments of book culture from seven countries of the world have been gathered on a single exhibition venue.

Mr. Arthur Gumenyuk was especially interested in the unique original editions of the Belarusian printing pioneer, Francysk Skaryna, published in Prague and Vilna in 1517–1525, as well as printing equipment of five centuries, from the era of Francysk Skaryna to the present day.

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
