On April 11, 2018, the staff of the National Library of Belarus attended a round-table, which was organized by the V.I. Lenin Vitebsk Regional Library within the framework of the Year of the Native Land.

The event gathered representatives of libraries, museums and students of local lore in Vitebsk.

On behalf of the hosts of the event, the director of the Vitebsk Regional Library, T. Adamyan, delivered an inaugural address. Also reports were made by the well-known Vitebsk historians A. Podlipsky, N. Pivovar, L. Hmelnitskaya, and the employee of the Vitebsk Regional Local Lore Museum E. Dudka.

The Deputy director of the National Library of Belarus, T. Kuzminich, spoke about the problems and perspectives of interaction between Belarusian libraries, archives and museums of for the development of national information resources. I. Gryadovkina, the head of the bibliography research department, made a presentation on the activities of the National Library of Belarus for the bibliographic and digital reconstruction of document heritage of Vitebsk Region. The head of section for local history and design work, A. Gancharova, presented a new virtual project under the working title "Belarus in Photos", which is supposed to be presented this year on the Internet portal of the National Library, and invited all interested to cooperation.

A useful and constructive exchange of views on the issues of local history, joint efforts to preserve, recreate and promote the Belarusian historical and cultural heritage was held.

The round table in Vitebsk became a kind of continuation of the socio-cultural event "Information Treasures of Belarus. The Vitebsk region" (January 25, 2018), which started a series of events scheduled by the National Library of Belarus for the acquaintance with the information heritage of the country’s regions and for the presentation of joint projects.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
