On July 10, the library was visited by a Latvian parliamentary delegation, led by the Chairman of the Defense, Internal Affairs and Corruption Prevention Committee of the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia, Ainars Latkovskis.
During a tour the guests of honor became acquainted with the history of the library and its architectural features.
At the Book Museum, the guests visited the exhibition “The Peoples of the World and Their Primers”, which presents versatile and original variants of the first book for teaching reading and writing. The original facsimile books of Francysk Skaryna – the valuable heritage of Belarusian book culture – were also presented to the guests.
The delegation members also visited the Round Hall and observation deck.
At the end of the meeting the Latvian parliamentary delegation received a memorable gift.
