The 11th All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference "Library Funds: Problems and Solutions" was held in the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan (the Russian Federation), on October 1–5.
The conference was organized by the Russian Library Association, the Russian National Library, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, and the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The conference discussed the issues of library acquisition in the digital environment, new approaches to the formation of municipal library funds and the legal and regulatory framework that determines the formation of library funds. Much attention was paid to practical issues of the formation of library collections.
The conference was attended by leading experts of the Russian Federation in the field of librarianship, book trade and publishing, as well as representatives of regional and municipal libraries of Russia.
For the first time, the representatives of the National Library of Belarus took part in the annual All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference. Yulia Pereverzeva, head of the acquisition department, and Yulia Tverdokhlebova, head of the specialized collections storage department, presented a report on forming and preserving a collection of periodicals in modern socio-economic conditions, the practice of the National Library of Belarus.
During the conference, the NLB staff familiarized themselves with the experience of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan regarding the formation and preservation of funds, as well as library and information services for users. As a result, the National Library of Belarus established working contacts with the library specialists of the Russian Federation for further cooperation.
