On October 16–17, the 6th International Congress “Library as a Cultural Phenomenon” will be held at the National Library of Belarus.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus and the National Library of Belarus with the support of the the Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation of the CIS (IFESCCO), the Polish Institute in Minsk, and the Goethe Institute in Minsk.

This year the event will bring together delegates from Belarus, Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Russia, Ukraine. Among them there are leading experts of libraries, research organizations, educational institutions, developers and manufacturers of software, hardware and information products.
The theme of the congress is “Services of libraries in the modern information space”. The delegates will discuss the role of libraries in the modern information infrastructure of society, cloud computing technologies, innovative approaches to organizing user services and much more.

Congress participants are expected to receive presentations, workshops and round tables. For two days, the exhibition "Services and resources of libraries in the electronic environment" will work.

The grand opening of the congress will be held on October 16 at 10.00 in the conference hall of the National Library.

Adam Shanyavsky and the library fund of the Nesvizh county school (the last quarter of the XVIII century)

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
