On June 11th, the plenary session "The Republic of Belarus: Partnership in the name of future” was held at the National Library of Belarus.
The event in which participated almost 500 people, was part of the 5th Belarusian International Media Forum “Partnership in the name of future” held in Belarus on June 8th-11th.
In conformity with the program of the session, there were the subject discussions as follow: “Integration in the post Soviet space. Problems and prospects in the present stage of the alliance construction”, “Belarus in the global processes. Openness and modernization as factors of an innovative development of the country”, “Mass media as the factor of consolidation of economic and humanitarian space of the CIS”.
After completing the session, participants adopted a resulting document of the V Belarusian International Media Forum – the Minsk Initiative that emphasizes the importance of consolidated efforts for joint resolution of the issues in the field of humanities, international and interreligious relations, education, science, mass media, culture and ecology.
The Media Forum had been prepared and run by the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus, the International Confederation of Journalists’ Unions and the Belarusian Union of Journalists. Representatives of mass media from 18 countries – Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Moldova, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Germany, Syria and Great Britain – took part in the event.
