On November 26-29, 2008, in National Library of Poland (Warsaw, Poland) was held an international discussing seminar “New role of national libraries. Presentation of commercial services of public use.”
Representatives of eight European countries – Belarus, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Russia, and Romania participated in the event. At the seminar Lyudmila Kiryukhina, the NLB’s Virtual Center of Legal Information, Virtual Reference Service “Ask a Librarian” , Virtual Reading Room , and Virtual Library Tour.

Participants of the seminar exchanged experience in libraries cooperation, commercial Internet services in libraries and commercial activities in the field of national bibliography processing.
In the framework of the seminar took place a Forum of publishers during which Lyudmila Kiryukhina demonstrated the NLB’s printed and electronic publications.
