From 26 April to 10 June, a subject book exhibition “The saved world keeps the memory…” timed to the Day of the Great Victory runs in the National Library of Belarus (2nd floor, circular hall).

Decades pass and generations change, but the people’s Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945 will remain forever in the heroic annals of Belarus as a symbol of national pride, military glory and valor.

The National Library of Belarus devotes to the Great Victory a subject book exhibition. The exposition presents about 200 books published for last years and dedicated to heroism, courage and resistance of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. Among them there is the book-winner of the republican contest “The Art Book”, the 800-page volume “The Encyclopedia of the Victory. Belarus-Moscow” of the publishing house “The Belarus Encyclopedia named after Petrus Brovka”. The edition includes generalizing historical essays about the initial stage of the Great Patriotic War, partisan and underground movement in the territory of Belarus, and also about the basic stages of liberation of Belarus from invaders. Besides, the encyclopedia contains data on the heroes of the Soviet Union who participated in liberation of Belarus, and also on the natives of Belarus honored with the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union. The book”We Shall Never Forget” is the modern reprinting of the collection first published in 1948 and republished 12 times, with a unique contrast selection of photos of happy children of peace-time and “children of war” with stories of their contemporaries-eyewitnesses of terrible evil deeds of fascists. This edition of the publishing house “Mastatskaya Litaratura” will leave nobody indifferent.

Classical military prose is represented at the exhibition by the series “The Great Patriotic War” of the Moscow publishing house “Terra – Knizhnyi Klub”. The series is about unique human fates, unknown or little-known military events, the international character of feats made in the name of the Victory; the main idea of these works is the sacred memory of those who won the right to immortality at the cost of their life.

The section “That the memory may not interrupt” presents printed editions about places of fighting glory and national tragedy, museums of the Great Patriotic War , monuments and obelisks, and also multimedia editions with military films and songs.

The offered exhibition is a tribute and sincere gratitude for the great feat to all veterans who released the world from fascism.
