From February 7, 2008, to March 15, 2008, in the Documents of International Organizations Reading Room (second floor, room 207g) is open a book exhibition “Republic of Belarus and international organizations: traditions and the present”.
The exhibition reveals the activities of the Republic of Belarus in the field of foreign policy and external economy.
Participation of the Republic of Belarus in international organizations and forums promotes prestige and positive image of the country, favours its integrations into the world community, and promotes Belarusian national interests on the international scene.
Cooperation with United Nations Organization is an indisputable priority of Belarus. Therefore most of displayed materials are dedicated to the participation of the Republic of Belarus in the UN.
The exhibition acquaints visitors as well with economic, politic, and diplomatic activities of the Republic of Belarus in World Trade Organization (WTO), International Organization for Migration (IOM), and other regional organizations.
The exhibition includes the following sections:
- Republic of Belarus and the UN;
- Belarus in the system of European regional organizations;
- multilateral cooperation in the CIS;
- cooperation of the Republic of Belarus with particular international organizations.
The exhibition totals about 60 materials: documents of international organizations, books, brochures, periodicals, and mimeographed materials of the UN.
We invite to the exhibition experts in international relations and policy, public figures, students, professors, and everyone who is interested in the activity of international organizations and the foreign policy of the Republic of Belarus.
