From 7 December 10 January, the exhibition “The placer of precious words”, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Мikola Маlyavko’s birth (Belarusian poet and translator), runs in the Belarusian Literature Reading Room (room 205).
Sincerity, love to the native land and to their countrymen are peculiar to Malyavko’s poetry. It was these characteristics which were brought up by native Stolbtsovschina, which gave a lot of talented people to our country.
M. Маlyavko is the laureate of Literary Award named after A.Kuleshov (1992), the premium of thе Federation оf Trade Unions оf Belarus (1997), a special premium of the President of Belarus in the nomination "Fiction" (2002).
The exhibition, devoted to the writer, consists of five sections.
The first section “Eternal and earthy” includes author’s collections. Among them are “Едуць маразы”(1966) (|“Frost is coming”), «Лотаць» (1973) (“To sew up”), “Эстакада” (1982) (“An overpass”), “Аднавякоўцы” (1988) (“Contemporaries”), “Зімні дождж” (1991) (“A winter rain”), “Ручнічок на крыжы” (1995) (“A towel on the Cross”), “Покуць” (2001) (“The honourable place”), “Сядзіба, альбо Хата з матчынай душою” (2002) (“A farmstead, or a house with mother’s soul”), “Старая зямля” (2005) (“The Old land”), “Дзічка ў полі” (2007) (“A wild tree in a field”), “Марфутка-імянінніца” (2008) (“Martha is the girl celebrating her name day”), etc.
The works of the poet, published in collective collections and periodicals, are represented in the section “Consulting with destiny”.
The exposition is continued by the section “The Gift of the native land” which acquaints with Malyavko as a translator. The works of the writer, translated into Russian, Ukrainian and Bulgarian languages, are represented there.
The separate section of the exhibition contains poet’s works which were set to music.
The exposition is ended by the section “A heartfelt confession”. It includes editions about M. Мalyavko’s life and his creative way which were put in encyclopedias and periodicals.
