An exhibition "The October Revolution in fine art: postcards, posters, reproductions from the stacks of the National Library of Belarus” runs at reading room 307 from November 5 to December 31.

In the first revolutionary years in Russia a leading role belonged to operative and politicized arts such as political posters, postcards and other art propaganda. Such mass forms of art manifest, first of all, the specific features of the epoch. Not designed for long existence, they arose together with quickly varying events and died off, being replaced by other forms of art influence on the masses. While contemporaries are often barely interested in historical events, in future these events get importance.

The exhibition presents more than 100 documents: albums, reproductions, postcards and posters about the events of October 1917.

The exposition is designed for everyone who is interested in the history of Soviet painting and graphics.
