The National Library of Belarus presents an exhibition dedicated to the 555th birthday of Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519), the Italian artist, scientist, engineer.
555 years ago, in the Renaissance epoch Leonardo da Vinci, one of the greatest artists lived and created his works.
He possessed a multifaceted talent which the world culture ever knew. He was painter and architect, sculptor and drawer, poet and musician, art theorist and philosopher. Furthermore, he was a naturalist who interested in physics, medicine, botany, astronomy... Besides that, he was mechanician, mathematician, engineer and inventor, founder of aeronautics.
The National Library of Belarus offers a book-illustrative exhibition "The Most Universal Genius of all Epochs» dedicated to the 555th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci. The exhibition presents over 400 materials from the NLB's collections: books, brochures, journals, booklets, and an extensive illustrative material.
The displayed materials recreate the image of the genius, who passed ahead of the epoch revealing his life and creative way in the context of crucial events of XV-XVI centuries.
The exhibition will be interesting to historians, art critics, philosophers, culture experts, philologists, as well as to everyone who admires Leonardo da Vinci's genius.
The exhibition is located on the third floor of the circular passage.
