From 12 June to 31 December, within the framework of the multiproject “Library”, a book exhibition "The miracle named the Book” timed to the Year of Book runs in the National Library of Belarus (3rd floor, circular hall).
The book is a treasury of the world, a hereditary property of generations and nations, an original time machine which transfers the reader from one epoch to another, from a country to a country, from destiny to destiny. The many-sided picture of life of the book is reflected in a thematic exhibition “The miracle named the Book”.
It presents about 600 editions among which there are albums and catalogues, reference, scientific, popular scientific editions and fiction devoted to the history of the book, publishing and book business; study of book monuments; printed treasures of libraries and private collections; the art of book – materials and techniques, design and illustrations, book ornaments; ex-librises and book signs; bibliophiles; library pedagogy; reading; questions of education through the book.
Editions on display are located in thematic sections: “With the book through centuries and countries”, “Book culture: old-printed books and manuscripts”, “The birth of the book”, “The book and reading”, “The art of book”.
Great authors are worthy of magnificent editions. Both are presented at the exhibition in series “Great Books of the World” and “The Book for All Times”.
