The exhibition "The Minstrel of People's Thoughts and Hopes" is dedicated to the 125th birthday of Yanka Kupala (1882-1942), the Belarusian people's poet, dramatist, journalist, and translator, one of founders of the new Belarusian literature and literary language, public figure, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.


Yanka Kupala is the Belarusian classical writer and poet revolutionist, poet prophet, inspired Minstrel of the free Fatherland. Yanka Kupala created a marvelous and powerful image of Belarusian people. The Minstrels' creative work furthered the development of Belarusian people's self-consciousness, and revealed the spiritual image of the nation. Thanks to Yanka Kupala and his brother-in-arms Yakub Kolas Belarusian literature reached its fullest flower. Their creative work defined the way of the further development of Belarusian literature.


The exhibition dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the famous son of Belarus presents Yanka Kupala's literary heritage: Complete collection of works in 9 volumes (1995-2003), 22 sonnets in Belarusian and translated into seven foreign languages, particular works translated into Ukrainian and Bulgarian languages, and "Yanka Kupala's language dictionary in 8 volumes". The exhibition presents as well materials on the poet's life and creative work. There is exposed the first Belarusian personal encyclopedia "Yanka Kupala", dedicated to his life and creative work. The exhibition totals over 250 materials: books, journals, and illustrative material (photos, collections of postcards, and posters).

We studied, made noise, had fun and were creative! The annual action in support of reading "BiblioNight-2024" has taken place! BiblioNight turned the space of the National Library of Belarus into a Planet of Knowledge, where thousands of book lovers found activities to their liking, received a lot of positive emotions and learned a lot of new and interesting things.
