“The Eternal Melody of Life”, an exhibition timed to the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian writer, honored worker of culture of Belarus Kastus Kireenko (1918–1988), runs in the Belarusian literature reading room (205), from December 11 to January 10.
The writing of Kastus (Konstantin) Kireenko is extremely versatile, but in all this he is primarily a poet of original talent. His poetry is inextricably linked with the fate of his generation who survived the war. In his verses, subtle mood and lyricism are combined with an exalted feeling of love for the native land and the freshness and richness of shades. The poetry of Kastus Kireenko is a significant contribution to the post-war Belarusian poetry.
The exhibition presents his works of different years: collections of poems and short stories, memoirs and essays, and also books for children. Kastusi Kireenko’s works translated into Russian, Ukrainian, Latvian, Bulgarian, Armenian, English and other languages are also on display. The exhibition includes a section on the author’s life and career.
The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the library’s opening hours.
