From November, 4th, to December, 31st, a thematic book exhibition “The Earth, our common business” runs in the Periodicals reading room (auditorium 106).

The earth is the source of life and the people’s well-being. It is the basic natural resource and a material condition of human life and activity. Our duty before present and future generations is a wise, zealous and careful attitude toward the earth, the preservation of its fertility. Today is the time for making choice: either the growth of consumption, when ones live at the expense of others destroying ecology, or the harmony with the Nature through a gradual, conscious reduction in human needs that ruin the environment. These urgent issues are covered in articles of numerous authors in magazines Agriculture and Protection of Plants, Ecology, The Earth of Belarus, The Native Nature, Nature and a Person, Science and Innovation etc.

The offered exhibition includes about 20 periodicals.
