On 30 January, 2007, the book exhibition “The Days of the Jewish Book” opened at the National Library of Belarus.
The event was arranged by the Embassy of Israel in the Republic of Belarus, the National Library of Belarus, the "МЕТ" publishing house with the support of the Jewish organizations "DZOINT" and "SOHNUT". The exhibition presents books published by more than 20 Israeli publishing houses, both in Hebrew and Russian.
The exhibition "The Jewish book in the socks of the National Library of Belarus" (over 200 documents) runs within the framework of the event.
The presentation of the first book by Israeli writer Etgar Keret “The Bus-Driver Who Wanted to Be God” translated into Belarusian took place at the opening of the exhibition .
The exhibition of Israeli photographers Julia Komissaroff and David Dektor “Transfers” runs concurrently with the book exhibition.
The exhibition runs till 5 February, 2007.
