According to the results of the National Contest “Art of the Book – 2010”, from August 20th till September 30th , at the National Library of Belarus (in the circular hall on the 3rd floor) take place a book exhibition.
It has already become a tradition annually within the framework of the Day of Belarusian writing and the Day of Libraries to hold a book exhibition following the results of the National contest “Art of the Book”. This year this event takes place on September 9th. The best books start their honorable way on the Day of Belarusian writing (September 5th, Hojniki). The representatives of the publishing houses will be handed over with honorable diplomas and a memorable sign-symbol «Gold Folio».
In the 50th contest (on May 12-13th) 44 publishing houses and the publishing organizations have taken part. They have offered more than 250 editions of a high quality on 24 nominations. Following the results of jury voting winners in 12 thematic, 6 special and 3 personal nominations are defined.
In a nomination "Grand prix" the place of honor is occupied with the book «Never Forget» by publishing house "Fiction". Personal nominations are awarded to Tamara Shelest («the Best illustrator»), to Valery Rogalevich («the Best designer of the book»), to Peter Kostroma («the Best photographer»).
All visitors of the library have a possibility to see the results of the Belarusian publishers’ works, the best samples of art and polygraphic culture. The exposition includes the books which have received honorable diplomas of winners ( I, II and III degrees). About a hundred editions of the exposition are divided into the following sections: «Thematic nominations», «Special nominations», «Personal nominations». All books have informative labels.
