The exhibition "Tea is an art available to everyone", dedicated to the International Tea Day, runs from December 15 to January 31 in the Library (3rd floor, circular corridor).

The International Tea Day is relatively young. The decision to celebrate the holiday on December 15 was adopted after manifold discussions in many international organizations and trade unions during the World Social Forum in Mumbai (India) in 2004.
Although unofficial, the Day is widely celebrated in various countries with different exhibitions, workshops, seminars, advertising campaigns on the theme of tea and the rules of its drinking.
Nearly 150 editions are presented at the exhibition "Tea is an art available to everyone". The literature about different tea traditions and the history of tea is in Russian, English, Chinese, Korean. The editions of the XX century Tea. World Tea Trade, Tea and Tea Trade in Russia: 1790–1919, etc. are particularly interesting.
The section "Culture of tea drinking" offers illustrated editions, e.g. Tea Encyclopedia and Tea. Tea Drinking by All Rules. Books of this section tell about tea drinking, offer different tea recipes and delicacies made of it. The reader will get acquainted with national traditions of tea drinking in many countries.
The book of the international expert in the Chinese art Lam Kam Chuen Way of Tea. Secrets of Ancient Tradition acquaints with the ancient beverage and its ancient history. The edition presents existing tea variety, tells about the spread of tea culture worldwide, the process of preparing tea leaves, traditions of Chinese and Japanese tea drinking, the ability of tea to treat ailments.
