On the eve of the International Day of Museums, the Library opened the exhibition "Stories are Written with Ex-libris". It is the result of an artistic experiment by pupils, who had the opportunity to become real museum curators and designers.

Children were invited to create their own stand in the Book Museum. Young artists carried out the whole process, from the conception of the exhibition idea (concept), the choice of material, marking (inscriptions) to the installation and design of the poster.

Ex-librises (book signs) created by the participants of the artistic workshop "Golden Bird" under the supervision of Ms Julija Shatsila became the exhibits. The works of art have been made in the technique of linoleum engraving and have been presented at the exhibition along with original clichés on linoleum.

The name of the exhibition – "Stories are Written by Ex-libris" – was invented by the children themselves, as well as the poster for it. Young museum workers offered to the attention of visitors ten stories told through ex-libris. Stories come from their imaginations and sincere feelings. They are about the eternal cycle of life and friendship, the relationship between fictional and real characters, about desires and dreams, the search for one's own path and much more.

The process of creating an exhibition project turned out to be so valuable and entertaining, that we advise everyone to check it out, and for this, we offer a video presentation of the museum experiment:

The stand will be on show at the Book Museum (room 347) until June 30, 2021.
The end date is subject to change.

The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the working hours of the Book Museum.
Admission is by the library card or by the Social and Cultural Centre ticket.
