From 10 to 30 September, an exhibition "Speak in a soul with the sky" timed to the 70th anniversary of Nina Matyash runs in the Belarusian Literature Reading Room (room 205).
Nina Matsyash is a famous Belarusian writer, translator, Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, winner of A. Kuleshov Literary Prize (1984). Her individual perception of the world and firm citizenship were reflected in every work. Her poetry touches with its sincerity, its subtle self-expression, and its emotional intensity of life perception in all its manifestations. The main themes of her lyrics are thoughts about the fate of the Motherland, native land and nature, love for the country and hard-working, conscientious fellow countrymen, the glorification of motherhood, the reflection of complex human relationships.
At the exhibition a literary heritage of Nina Matyash is represented by selected works Паварот на лета (1986), Душою з небам гаварыць (1999), poetry collections Агонь (1970), Удзячнасць (1973), Ралля суровая (1976), Прыручэнне вясны (1979), Поўны келіх (1982), Шчаслівай долю назаві... (1990), Богава дрэва (2004), a book of poems devoted to somebody Я вас люблю... (1998), a book of poems, translations, and essays У прыгаршчах ветру (2009), children’s books Два браты і сякера (1975), Казка пра суседзяў, змяю і мядзведзя (1982), Адведзіны лета (2004), plays, poems and literary critical articles from numerous joint collections and magazines.
The exhibition introduces visitors to translations of Nina Matyash. The following books were translated and published by her: J. Olivier In the country of the Indians (1973), G. Simenon Maigret’s First Case (1982), Antoine de Saint-Exupery Human Planet (1984) and The Little Prince (1989), short story of G. de Maupassant (1987), poems of L. Kostenko Маруся Чурай (1989), A. Gavrilyuk Песня с Бярозы (1979), collections of poetry Свет, варты вяртання (1991), W. Szymborska Хвіля (2005) and Двукроп’е (2010), etc. Her works translated into English, French, Russian, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, Serbian, Bulgarian, Polish are of great interest. A separate section is devoted to the life and work of the writer.
