The National Library of Belarus dedicates to the Great Victory a thematic exhibition “Remember, the saved world!”, which runs in the circular corridor on the 2nd floor from April 25 to June 20.

The exposition presents more than 150 books, published for the last three years and that tell about heroism, courage and stoutness of Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War. These are stories about unique destinies, well-known and unknown military events, international character of heroic deeds for the name of victory. The main sense of works is a sacred memory of those who sacrificed the most precious – their lives.

Decades pass, generations change, but the Victory of Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 will always remain in the heroic chronicle of Belarus as a symbol of the national pride, military glory and courage. Belarusians were the first to face the attack on June 22, 1941. Thousands of our compatriots were fighting in this war. They showed examples of courage, heroism and stoutness, executed responsible tasks on the Motherland protection in the relentless fight. Victory was not only in great fights, but also in struggles for every settlement, for every village and town.

Today there are memorials, monuments and obelisks at sites of sanguinary battles, and people of all generations still visit these places to bow thanks for the unfadable act of courage. The memory of heroes is commemorated in streets, squares and parks names.

Our sacred duty is to preserve this heroic heritage, military traditions of the Belarusian people, give to a new generation the holiest feeling – love to the motherland, sovereign and independent Belarus.
