An exhibition "Poetess of Musical Stanza" dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Belarusian composer Galina Gorelova is on show in the Music and Audiovisual Documents Reading Room (room 305) from February 17 to March 31.

Galina Gorelova is one of the recognized masters of the modern Belarusian school of composition, a prominent representative of neo-romanticism.

Chamber music plays the main role in the composer's work. This suite for piano "Lilac Fairy", "Evening Album", sonata for solo clarinet "Touches", compositions for flute "To the Soaring Bird", "She is in the wilderness of the pear garden ...", "Pastoral". Composers often name their pieces using separate poetic lines or referring to painting, which gives the compositions a unique sophistication and mystery ("Drawings on a Greek Vase for Two Harps", "Two Panels by Henri Matisse for Cello", etc.).

Galina Gorelova is the author of concerts for violin, oboe, balalaika, trumpet, guitar, and trombone. There are also choral and vocal cycles, applied music to TV and radio performances, as well as music for children in her artistic repertoire. Galina Gorelova's compositions are often heard at international festivals and competitions.

In 2016, the Belarusian Philharmonic performed her work "Dialogue with the Sunset" for the Celtic harp and 22 glasses filled with rainwater.

The exhibition includes collections of piano pieces "Silent Music for Robert", "Album for Christmas", "The Ant Colony Music", "Two Winter Prints" for the guitar, "Lane in High Grass" for clarinet and piano and others, as well as audio documents, including "Memories of Niasvizh", "Troica Frescoes", "Concerto for guitar, strings and bells."

Books and articles from periodicals about the life and work of the composer complement the exhibition.

The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the library’s opening hours.
