An exhibition "Overcoming Stigma", timed to coincide with World AIDS Day (December 1) is on show from November 30.
The exhibition includes the winning entries, as well as additional prizes from the national competition "Forming tolerant attitudes towards people living with human immunodeficiency virus. Overcoming stigma and non-discrimination." The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus held the competition.
The authors of the entries are pupils, students, housewives, economists, managers, doctors and others from all over Belarus. The youngest entry is 10 and the oldest entry is 52.
The exhibition is supplemented with reference, scientific, popular scientific literature and articles from periodicals of the National Library of Belarus, dedicated to current issues of human immunodeficiency virus, modern tactics of treatment, as well as socio-psychological, moral and legal aspects of HIV infection.
The exhibition raises awareness of the problem, dispel myths and eradicate misconceptions about the disease.
Organized by the National Library of Belarus and the Republican Centre for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health.
The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the library’s opening hours.
Admission is by the library card or by the Social and Cultural Centre ticket.
The exhibition will run until February 1, 2022, in the "Mobile" Gallery (3rd floor).
