From April 7th to May 26th at the Music and Audio Materials Reading Room (room 305) is open an anniversary exhibition “On the wave of a song and time” dedicated to the 70th birthday of Belarusian composer Eduard Khanok.


The creativity of honored art worker of Belarus (1982) and people’s artist of Belarus (1996) Eduard Khanok manifests itself the most vivid and expressively in the song. Picturesqueness and melodiousness are peculiar to his music, and it is easy to remember. All this is achieved by means of characteristic intonations, harmonies and rhythmic. Works by Eduard Khanok are preformed by famous Belarusian ensembles Verasy, Syabry, Pesnyary, and eminent singers L. Leschenko, A. Pugacheva, E. Khil, O. Voronets and others.

The exhibition presents audio materials and printed music of the best-known songs by the composer.

The particular section of the exhibition presents books and numerous articles from periodicals dedicated to Eduard Khanok’s life and career.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
