The thematic exhibition “Magazines in Foreign Languages from the Stocks of the Periodicals Reading Room” runs from 4 November to 31 December in the periodicals reading room No. 106.
Today, the life of an individual is unimaginable without information on the latest events in the country and the world. Periodical press in foreign languages is one of sources of such information. These editions not only keep readers posted on the latest news, but also develop their lexicon and outlook enriching the culture of reading.
The deposit collection of the periodicals reading room includes about 1,000 copies of magazines in foreign languages from the library’s stock.
Magazines appeared in the last 3 years are available, mostly in English, German and French. Some magazines in Spanish and Italian are presented as well.
These publications cover the world events in the sphere of policy, economy, culture and arts and touch upon social questions.
Popular magazines The Economist, People, Fortune, L’express, Stern and other are on display.
The offered exhibition includes over 30 periodicals.
