From 22 June to 10 September, a book exhibition “Independent Belarus is our common firm home”, dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus (3 July), runs at the National Library of Belarus (2nd floor, circular hall).
The exposition includes the newest editions (2009–2012) devoted to the development and the current state of Belarusian statehood, achievements in social and economic, scientific and cultural spheres, external economic and foreign political connections, tourism and cultural and historical heritage of Belarus.
Independence Day is observed on July, 3rd, on the day when the liberation of Belarus from Nazi aggressors is celebrated. On this great day and great holiday the country thanks and celebrates veterans without whom there would be neither freedom nor independence of Belarus.
Collections of scientific-practical conferences, books and albums presented at the exhibition are devoted to the difficult way to the liberation of the Belarusian land, problems of studying of historical events and perpetuating of the memory of defenders of the Fatherland.
