On November 1–31, a subject exhibition “In the world of knowledge: periodicals for pedagogues and psychologists” runs in the Periodicals reading room (room 106).


It is well-known that quality of any work depends on specialist’s professional level. The higher professionalism, the better quality. In this age of information and promptly developing technologies any profile activity must be performed by a highly educated expert. Reading is one of the most effective ways to improve professional skills. Periodicals are an integral part of information for experts.

The purpose of this exhibition is to inform visitors on journals and newspapers, including new editions, on the given branch of knowledge. The reading room collections include more than 60 journals and newspapers with articles concerning pedagogics and psychology. Most part of these editions is on display.

At the exhibition visitors can acquaint themselves with methodical documents regulating activity of general educational establishments of Belarus, information-communication technologies in the field of pedagogics, experience in using information control systems. Interesting are specialized journals on educational technologies used in teaching mathematics, languages, biology, chemistry, geography, physics, history and other subjects. Publications from journals “Social and Pedagogical Work”, “Education of Choolchildren”, “Questions of Education”, “Praleska”, “Primary School” and others will remind of the important role of family and school in children’s education and development.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
