From April 20th to May 14th, a book exhibition “In the orbit of time” timed to the 75th anniversary of Belarusian prose and scenario writer Victor Kozko runs in the Belarusian literature reading room (auditorium 205).
Among Belarusian writers of the second half of the XX century, Victor Kozko's talent stands out for its brightness and originality. His prose is a painful and wise truth about a complex way of the person and the people to themselves, their origins and spirituality.
The offered exhibition consists of three thematic sections. The first one includes the author’s works edited as collections, single novels and publications in literary magazines. The creativity of the remarkable prose master is closely bound with his biography. The plotline and the ethical core of his works are the themes of war, ecology, the cleanness of nature and human intentions. Literary critics compare his latest books – social and philosophic novels – with those of Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
The second exhibition section includes the writer’s translations. It is necessary to note that the most part of Russian versions is made by the author himself.
The last sections contains author’s abstracts, monographs and encyclopedic articles about the life and creative career of Victor Kozko, the laureate of the BSSR State Prize named after Y. Kolas (1982), the Lenin Komsomol Prize (1977), the Prize named after N. Ostrovsky (Russia, 1975), the Prize named after B. Polevoy (Russia, 1990) and winner of the order “The Sign of Glory”.
