“Home Sweet Home”, a thematic exhibition, runs in the periodicals reading room (106), from January 2 to February 28.
Year 2019, like the previous 2018, is announced the Year of Native Land.
Each has their own concept of the Motherland. It does not depend on a territorial border. For some, this is their hometown, a street in the city or a small courtyard, a village where the best childhood years were spent; for others this is a piece of wildlife that delighted the eye and gave a feeling of fullness and peace. Homeland is a place to which we are attached with the heart and soul, and where we would like to return no matter what obstacles and circumstances.
Newspapers and magazines, presented at the exhibition, reflect the large amount of work, both done and planned, for the implementation of various (cultural, economic, social) projects and events, designed to improve the standard of living in all regions of Belarus. Many articles from the magazines “Belarus”, “Belaruskaya Dumka”, newspapers “SB. Belarus Today”, “Respublika”, “Selskaya Gazeta” are about people for whom the words “Native Land” are not an empty sound, who with all warmth and love make everything for a happy future of their native shore. The personal participation in the fate of our common home is an example of true patriotism for future generations.
About forty periodicals are on display.
The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the library’s opening hours.
Admission is by library card or by ticket of the library's social and cultural center. Information and tickets may be obtained at the registration desk.
