"His Life is a Theater" is an exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Alexei Dudarev, Belarusian writer, Honored Art Worker of Belarus. The exhibition is on show from June 1 to August 3 in the Belarusian Literature Reading Room (room 206).

The playwright, screenwriter, theatrical figure, actor... Alexei Dudarev is an unusually bright and noticeable person in the art world.

His works vividly depict the character of the 80–90s. There are tendencies of an in-depth psychological analysis of a human personality through the study of the motives, actions, and moral standards of existence. The author writes about modernity, about a man at war, about historical figures and events. The works by Dudarev differ in genre diversity and the original structure of the plot.

Aleksei Dudarev is known as the author of the collection of short stories “The Holy Bird”, the plays “The Choice”, “Evening”, “Ancestral”, “Rift”, “Demolition”, “Black Panna of Niasvizh”, “The Girl From Polotsk”, “The Rise”, “Prince Vitaut”, “Usiaslau The Sorcerer”, the dramatic poem “Skaryna's Day of Retribution”, the film novels “Brest Castle”, “The White Dew”, “The White Dew. Return", books of fairy tales for children "The Blue-Eyed".

The exhibition presents the author's collections, journal publications, translations of the writer’s works into foreign languages, materials of literary criticism, reviews of theatrical productions, interviews with a playwright, a bibliography "Aleksei Dudarev", encyclopedic publications with biographical data of the writer: “Theater Encyclopedia”, “Republic of Belarus”, “Encyclopedia of the Literature and Art of Belarus”, “Encyclopedia of the History of Belarus”, “Culture of Belarus”, etc.

The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the library’s opening hours.
Admission is by library card or by the ticket of the library's social and cultural center.

Adam Shanyavsky and the library fund of the Nesvizh county school (the last quarter of the XVIII century)

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
