An exhibition "Fate Foretold by Heaven" dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Belarusian composer and teacher Hanna Kazlova is on show in the Music and Audiovisual Documents Reading Room (room 305) from July 22 to September 22.
Hanna Kazlova comes from a famous musical dynasty. She studied in the composition class of Associate Professor Alkhimovich at the Belarusian State Academy of Music. She worked at the Musical Comedy Theater, at the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society; held the position of Senior Lecturer of the Department of Pop Art, Belarusian State University of Culture and Art; taught a special course in jazz improvisation at the Belarusian State Academy of Music.
Jazz music is among her special interests. A striking example of this genre is her jazz suite, consisting of 6 musical performances (4 of which are for piano and two for piano and a vocal group). The piece is distinguished by a peculiar melodic and harmonic language, syncopated rhythm, multivariance.
The composer's creative legacy includes pieces of choral, chamber instrumental and pop genre. Ms Kazlova wrote more than 150 pop songs and choral compositions, which have been included in the repertoire of the State Academic Choir named after G. Shirma, the State Chamber Choir, the National Academic Concert Orchestra of Belarus under the direction of M. Finberg and other well-known groups, as well as leading soloists of the opera house, famous pop performers, including Julija Skarakhod, Anastasija Tsikhanovich, Diadia Vania, art group "Turetsky Choir". Hanna Kazlova's songs "The Melody of Love" and "Chaplin" were included in the "Golden Collection of Belarusian Songs", and the song "Belarus, a Holy Name" is constantly played in concerts of the State Academic Folk Choir named after G.I. Tsitovich.
Ms Kozlova fruitfully works with vocal and instrumental ensembles as a pianist, singer, arranger and composer. Her music is widely known in different countries. Hanna Kazlova is the winner of numerous international awards.
The exhibition presents the scores of a concert opera "The Great Principality of Love", a musical "In the Castle of the Radziwills, or the Story of Eternal Love", a piano concerto "The Frescoes of Ancient Egypt" and other pieces, the video of the author's concert "Belarus, My Love", audio documents, articles about the work of the composer.
The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the library’s opening hours.
