From October 01, 2007 to November 09, 2007, in the Belarusian Literature Reading Room (room 205) is open an exhibition “Faith in the Fatherland” dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Ivan Ptashnikov, the Belarusian writer, laureate of the BSSR Yakub Kolas State Prize (1978), honored cultural worker of Belarus (1983).
Ivan Ptashnikov dedicated his works to people’s life. Books by the author, which are full of colorful images of nature and original characters, reveal the spiritual strength of people and a person, and glorify the immortality of life. Ivan Ptashnikov’s literary heritage includes collections of books in two (1980) and four (1990-1992) volumes, as well as particular editions of novels, stories, and author’s translations of foreign writers.
A particular section of the exhibition presents the author’s works translated into Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, English, German, French, and other languages. Besides that, at the exhibition are exposed materials dedicated to Ivan Ptashnikov’s life and creative work.
The exposition includes over 130 materials.
