From March 20, 2009, to May 14, 2009, in the National Library of Belarus is open a book exhibition dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Nicolay Gogol (1809–1852), the great Russian writer.
At the exhibition are displayed over 500 materials revealing the biography and literary heritage of the classical Russian writer.
The exposition includes publications issued in the author’s lifetime (10 books), in the 20th century and the modern publications.
Illustrated albums, collected plays, scores by the eminent Russian composers – D. Shostakovich, R.Schedrin, N. Rimsky-Korsakov, P. Tchaikovsky, M. Mussorgsky inspired by the works of Nicolay Gogol, as well as gramophone recordings of literary-musical works, books by the writertranslated into Belarusian language and critical essays by different authors are displayed in particular sections of the exhibition.
We invite to the exhibition everyone who is interested in literature, philology and Nicolay Gogol’s literary heritage.
The exposition is located in the NLB’s circular passage on the third floor.
