From March 17, 2009 to April 13, 2009, in the Belarusian Literature Reading Room (room 205) is open a book exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Emmanuel Ioffe, Belarusian historian, political scientist, Doctor of History, pedagogue, professor.




Emmanuel Ioffe
is an author of 620 scientific papers including 38 books and brochures. The scientist studies the history of Belarus, the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War, history od Belarusian science and culture, Belarusian historiography, history of Jews in Belarus, issues od political sciences, sociology and culturology.  

At the exposition are displayed over 100 materials: scientific publications and articles written by the author, publications on his life and career as well as photos from Emmanuel Ioffe’s personal archive.

Adam Shanyavsky and the library fund of the Nesvizh county school (the last quarter of the XVIII century)

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).
